I’ve always lived a pretty sedentary lifestyle, and in my mid-40’s, it started to make me nervous about maintaining my health.  I turned to Marissa after my husband bought me some training sessions at an auction.  At the time, we were early in the pandemic, so I did the sessions virtually – on FaceTime with earbuds.  When I started, I was unable to do a single push-up, didn’t know how to do a squat, became severely winded after just moments of jump rope.  

It’s been about two years, and Marissa has changed my life – for real.  I feel so much better in my body, so much stronger, healthier, more confident.  

I haven’t turned into a supermodel, but I feel proud of my body.  No more anxiety about bathing suits.   Marissa is an inspiration, always supportive and kind, but she pushes me to do more than I knew I could.  I cannot say enough about her.  Marissa is the best.

Coach Marissa made running so fun that I forgot I was bad at it… until I wasn’t anymore. She is an absolute magician. You’re schmoozing, you’re schmoozing, you’re schmoozing, and before you know it you’ve reached your mile marker. She is gentle and strong, deeply compassionate and in no way a push over. I am stronger and healthier than I was a decade ago, and it’s because of Marissa Gee.

Marissa Gee has been our trainer for 14 years.  My husband and I train together. He is 79 and I am 76. Although we are at different physical abilities, motivation and endurance levels Marissa accommodates us both.  Our weekly workouts are varied and the routines interesting, always changing to keep us motivated. 

The true strength of this motivating trainer is her compassion. She does not judge. We don’t need fancy workout equipment or significant exercise space.  The most important element of our training is that we can see real improvement-  in our balance, flexibility and strength. 

We walk many miles each week, have participated in several fund raising 5K walks and even participated in the Ride for the Living, a 60-mile bike ride from Auschwitz-Birkenau and can boast the completion of 15 miles. We are certainly not going to be long distance runners or become big time weight lifters.  But we feel healthy, confident, and alive.

I had the privilege of working with Coach Marisa on my health journey. She immediately made me feel at ease and was non-judgmental. I always felt that I could be open and honest with her. Coach Marissa helped me to envision an attainable future with a healthy me. 

She listened to my goals and helped me to overcome my fears. She was able to help me make concrete health goals that I was able to start achieving immediately. I enjoyed the mindful moments that we started each session with to help my mind be focused. She always provided resources when I asked.

She has a wealth of knowledge that she shared in regards to nutrition, exercise, time
