I am a certified professional health and wellness coach (NBC-HWC). I am formally trained through Vanderbilt University’s Medicine Center. Health is more than exercise and nutrition; it encompasses stress management, mindfulness, sleep, environmental factors, and more. As a health coach, we will address any or all of these areas and help you become UNSTUCK.

A health coach is a behavior change specialist who will assist you in making sustainable lifestyle improvements. Health coaching uses evidence-based psychology to assist you in discovering and achieving your ideal health future. We concentrate on what’s going well in your life, rather than solely on what’s wrong.

These two will both help me get healthy, so what’s the difference? 
  • As your personal trainer, I will teach you exercise routines tailor-made to your goals, needs and desires, taking into consideration your fitness level, amount of time dedicated to exercise and movement history. I will actually be present to monitor your exercise session and make sure your form, breathing and effort are all at the appropriate level.
  • As your coach, we will work with a broad range of issues related to health (not just exercise), and I will help you find the inner motivation to make behavior changes. I will not monitor your actual exercise sessions or design fitness routines for you.
  • If one your goals is to increase or maintain movement in your life, then you will benefit from working with me as both your health coach and personal trainer.
 
WILL COACHING ACTUALLY HELP ME?
  • Great question! You don’t want to invest your time and money into something if it isn’t what you need or isn’t going to help, right? Our answer to this is “Yes, if YOU are ready to make the changes.” If your unhealthy behaviors, sedentary lifestyle or stress are negatively impacting your energy level, physical health or your overall quality of life, and you’re ready to improve these, then you can benefit from coaching.
 
WHAT IS THE HEALTH COACHING PROCESS?
  • As your coach, I will ask the right questions and truly listen to your story to help pave a client-centered path of easy, actionable steps that lead toward better overall health. I will not tell you what to do or tell you what’s best for you. You have the autonomy to make those decisions. Based on your own strengths, values, and goals, you decide what to focus on and at what pace.
  • I use an assessment tool called the Wheel of Health that gauges your current level of health and happiness, desired outcomes and readiness to change in nine different areas. Armed with this information, you choose which goals to work on. I will help you unlock your own potential to achieve them.
LOGISTICS & RATES
  • After an initial 60-90 minute intake session, the coaching process includes weekly or biweekly sessions for 45-50 minutes each.
  • You will set goals and then work on small specific action steps between our sessions, each one a small step toward those goals.
  • All sessions are virtual on zoom or by phone, from the comfort of your own home.
  • Coaching generally lasts 3-6 months. You can continue as long as needed because it is 100% based on your own individual goals and needs.
  • Rates are $100-$150 and may be reimbursed by your insurance. Please confirm with your health insurance
